Peer volunteers offer midlife & older adults unbiased health insurance counseling through the Health Insurance Information, Counseling, and Assistance Program (HIICAP). Assists with senior prescription drug coverage options, including EPIC, Medicare Part D Prescription Drug Benefit, retiree plans, and drug assistance programs. Counseling by appointment. Speakers/educational materials on topics listed.

Helps low- and moderate-income seniors, age 65 and older, save on prescription drug costs. Under this costsharing program, seniors pay a premium or meet a deductible to join. Depending on cost of medicines, participants pay a set co-payment at pharmacy for each prescription. (For local EPIC assistance, call Action for Older Persons at 722-1251).

Pharmaceutical Patient Assistance Programs help individuals without prescription coverage obtain prescription medication for chronic health conditions at little or no cost. Rural Health Network assists individuals applying for these programs.
